About
David Cotterell

I am a chartered surveyor (a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) having worked in the property industry for over 40 years.

 I am also a barrister in private practice and tenant at Albion Chambers in Bristol where my practice concentrates on property-related matters. I am also an accredited mediator. https://albionchambers.co.uk/barrister/david-cotterell/

 I was until 2025 a director of Savills within the firm's Housing Division where I had worked for over 35 years, specialising in valuation-related matters, mostly relating to affordable housing.  I trained originally as an agricultural surveyor and land agent, qualifying as such before beginning my career in Savills’ development consultancy business acting for landowners and housebuilder developers.

WH Cotterell & Son Ltd was established in 2026 to build on that experience and to offer clients a service tailored to their individual needs.
